# WissenFlow > WissenFlow is a research-led learning studio in Dresden, Germany. It turns complex topics into learning experiences, educational games and simulations, custom learning platforms, and AI-assisted assessment and learning analytics. - WissenFlow is a learning studio based in Dresden, Germany. Slogan: "Transform Complex Ideas into Meaningful Learning". - It designs learning experiences, educational games and simulations, custom learning platforms, and AI-assisted assessment and learning analytics for schools, universities, research labs, banks, companies, cities and public programs. - Method: connect an abstract idea to something concrete, keep the real cause and effect, let people decide, and name the concept only after the choice (based on conceptual metaphor theory and cognitive load research). - Origin: eight years of cognitive-science and multimedia-learning research in a founder’s PhD at a German university. That work received the Deutsche Bundesbank Award and the DAAD Award, and the company received an EXIST startup grant. TU Dresden is the research home. - Evidence: one game, The Safe Spread, has a post-play survey (9 September 2026, n = 55, responses from 22 countries). All 55 chose a diversified €1,000 portfolio; 54 of 55 mapped baskets to diversifying; 41 of 55 said the game helped understanding. There was no control group. - WissenFlow does not publish retention or completion percentages it has not measured. - FinAI (https://finai.wissenflow.com) is live and free to try. It is educational decision intelligence: deterministic engines compute on real data and a language model only explains that output. It is not regulated investment advice. - The games run in desktop and laptop browsers only, not on phones. - The website is in English and German. German pages live under https://wissenflow.com/de (for example https://wissenflow.com/de/about); English pages have no prefix. Both versions link to each other with hreflang. The main film is published in English, German, French and Spanish. ## Core pages - [Home](https://wissenflow.com): What the studio does, the four product categories, and the main film. A multi-country randomized trial of the Financial Escape Room shows what a short game can do, and where the evidence stops. - [Game-Based Learning in the Age of AI](https://wissenflow.com/blog/game-based-learning-in-the-age-of-ai): What four large reviews say about learning through games, what AI might add, and the risks worth taking seriously before anyone promises dramatic gains. - [Why FinAI never lets the language model pick the number](https://wissenflow.com/blog/why-finai-never-lets-the-model-pick-the-number): Language models write fluent explanations and can still invent a price. How FinAI splits the work between deterministic engines and narration, and what that design does not solve. - [Name it after: the research behind FinBild's metaphor games](https://wissenflow.com/blog/name-it-after-the-research-behind-finbild): Why the FinBild games show no coins, percentages, or portfolio words during play, and the cognitive science that decides when the financial term finally appears. - [What 55 players told us about The Safe Spread](https://wissenflow.com/blog/the-safe-spread-playtest-55-players): The first measured FinBild game. Results from 55 post-play surveys on 9 September 2026, what they show about the egg-and-basket metaphor, and what they cannot show yet. ### Studio notes - [The name should arrive after the choice](https://wissenflow.com/blog/the-name-should-arrive-after-the-choice): Vocabulary sticks when it has an experience to land on. The label is the last step, not the title. - [A scene only works if the cause survives](https://wissenflow.com/blog/a-scene-only-works-if-the-cause-survives): Lakoff and Johnson's point, applied. If the object drops the relationship, it is decoration. - [What we will not put on a slide](https://wissenflow.com/blog/what-we-will-not-put-on-a-slide): One measured game. No invented retention figures. FinAI explains an engine. It does not advise. - [Working memory is a short shelf](https://wissenflow.com/blog/working-memory-is-a-short-shelf): A few chunks, not a paragraph. The shelf on the neuroinclusive page is a demonstration of that limit. - [The yield flashes before the stock moves](https://wissenflow.com/blog/the-yield-flashes-before-the-stock-moves): Donella Meadows on delays. People feel the reward now. The system answers later. - [Make the shortcut tempting](https://wissenflow.com/blog/make-the-shortcut-tempting): Transfer is narrow. A mission has to practice the minute someone wants to skip the check. ### Basics - [Play before charts — why games teach finance better](https://wissenflow.com/blog/play-before-charts-why-games-teach-finance): Why experiential learning and metaphors outperform jargon-first finance education — and how institutions can deliver it. - [What is an AI financial advisor?](https://wissenflow.com/blog/what-is-an-ai-financial-advisor): AI financial advisors explained — decision intelligence, deterministic engines, and how FinAI differs from chatbots. - [What is diversification?](https://wissenflow.com/blog/what-is-diversification): Diversification spreads investments across assets and regions to reduce reliance on any single outcome — a core principle of portfolio risk management. - [How AI can personalize financial learning](https://wissenflow.com/blog/how-ai-personalizes-financial-learning): Personalized financial education with AI — when it helps, when it hurts, and how engines keep answers honest. - [Financial e-learning for banks, schools, and universities](https://wissenflow.com/blog/financial-e-learning-for-institutions): How institutions deliver scalable online financial education with FinBild — partner access, self-paced sessions, and progress visibility. - [Emergency fund basics](https://wissenflow.com/blog/emergency-fund-basics): An emergency fund is cash set aside for unexpected expenses — most guides suggest three to six months of essential living costs. - [What is gamified financial learning?](https://wissenflow.com/blog/what-is-gamified-financial-learning): Gamified financial learning uses game mechanics to teach money concepts — stakes, choices, and feedback before jargon. - [How metaphors make finance easier](https://wissenflow.com/blog/how-metaphors-make-finance-easier): Conceptual Metaphor Theory shows that abstract ideas become memorable when mapped to physical experiences — like water for money in FinBild games. - [Understanding inflation and your savings](https://wissenflow.com/blog/understanding-inflation-and-your-savings): Inflation reduces the purchasing power of cash over time — understanding it helps you decide how much to keep liquid vs invested. - [AI vs traditional financial advice](https://wissenflow.com/blog/ai-vs-traditional-financial-advice): AI financial tools can explain and route questions at scale — but the best systems use deterministic engines for data, not invented answers. - [Why financial literacy matters](https://wissenflow.com/blog/why-financial-literacy-matters): Financial literacy is the ability to understand and use money skills — budgeting, saving, investing, and debt — and it directly affects your long-term security. - [Getting started with budgeting](https://wissenflow.com/blog/getting-started-with-budgeting): A practical guide to building your first budget — track spending, set goals, and build financial habits that last. - [What is compound interest?](https://wissenflow.com/blog/what-is-compound-interest): Compound interest is interest earned on both your principal and previously accumulated interest — the engine behind long-term wealth growth. ## Optional - [Full text for AI assistants](https://wissenflow.com/llms-full.txt): every fact, offer, game, post and FAQ answer on one page. - [YouTube channel](https://www.youtube.com/@WissenFlow): the main film and one film per product category. - [Sitemap](https://wissenflow.com/sitemap.xml)
