Short answers, before a call.
What the studio does, what each offer is for, what has actually been measured, and how a project starts.
The studio
What is WissenFlow?
A learning company in Dresden. We turn research, training problems, and abstract subjects into scenes people can choose inside. The method comes from cognitive science: connect the idea to something concrete, keep the real cause and effect, let people act, and name the concept after.
Where are you based, and where does the method come from?
Dresden, Germany. The company is rooted in the PhD work of one founder at a German university: cognitive science, multimedia learning, and applied design, over eight years. That work received Germany’s Bundesbank Award, the DAAD Award, and an EXIST startup grant. TU Dresden is our research home.
Who is on the team?
Awais, CEO and founder. Iqra, co-founder and learning scientist. Bekim, co-founder and CTO. Hinan, co-founder and head of game design. Ushna, product partnership and game design.
Do you only work in Germany?
The studio is in Dresden. The playtest for The Safe Spread drew responses from 22 countries. A project can be for a university, a company, a city, or a public program. The consultation is where we see whether the subject and the audience fit.
Do you only build for finance?
Finance is where FinBild and FinAI already exist. The studio also designs research translation, neuroinclusive learning, climate and sustainability learning, and FlowForge workplace training. Healthcare practice, STEM, safety, and civic programs sit on the same pattern: a scene, a choice, a name afterward.
Which languages do you work in?
This website is in English and German, and the main film is available in English, German, French, and Spanish. Projects are scoped per audience; a digital game is easier to translate and reuse than a classroom course.
The offers
What is the Research-to-Experience Studio?
For universities, labs, and expert teams whose finding is still a PDF. We turn it into a playable prototype, a metaphor map that stays hidden until the choice, and a pilot note about what a first workshop can and cannot claim. The scene has to keep the cause.
Is neuroinclusive learning a clinical product?
No. It is a design pass: a lower-load version of a lesson, a decide-first version, and a way for teachers or managers to feel the overloaded one themselves. The shelf on that page demonstrates Cowan’s few-chunks estimate. It is not a study, and it is not a diagnosis.
What does the climate offer actually simulate?
A delay. Six units, three seasons. Taking pays now. The stock answers later. It is a toy of that systems pattern for companies, cities, and classrooms. It is not a carbon model and not an emissions claim.
What is FlowForge for?
Workplace training that has to survive the job: onboarding, safety, compliance, product, sales, leadership. People practice the costly shortcut while it is still tempting, before anyone is hurt or embarrassed.
What is BuildBox?
A way to mix modules, such as research translation, neuroinclusive design, climate, and training, into one session, then send that mix with the brief. It lives on the homepage.
What is the difference between FinBild and FinAI?
FinBild is the financial-literacy game series: time value of money and diversification, felt before they are named. FinAI is educational decision intelligence. Engines compute from real data, and a model explains that output in plain language. FinAI is not regulated investment advice and not a licensed advisor.
Can several offers be combined?
Yes. A university pilot might need the research studio and a neuroinclusive pass. A company might need FlowForge for the floor and a climate session for the people who set the budget. BuildBox is the short way to say which pieces you want. The consultation is where we say what should stay as text.
Games and FinAI
Can I play the games?
Yes, on a desktop or laptop browser, with no download or account. The Safe Spread, Invest in Earth, and WareHouse Management Learning run on play.wissenflow.com, and the FinBild Platform runs on Unity Play. Liquid Gold and Before It Melts are coming soon. The games do not run on phones.
Is FinAI available?
Yes. FinAI is live at finai.wissenflow.com and anyone can try it. It is educational decision intelligence, not regulated investment advice.
Why do the videos not play straight away?
The films are hosted on YouTube. They only load after you click play, because loading them sends data to Google. Until then your browser makes no request to YouTube; the preview image is served by our own server.
Evidence
What has actually been measured?
One game, The Safe Spread, has a post-play survey from 9 September 2026, n = 55. All 55 chose a diversified €1,000 and spreading investments as the way to reduce risk. Baskets mapped to diversifying for 54 of 55. The game helped understanding for 41 of 55. There was no control group, and we say so.
Will you promise a retention or completion rate?
No. Published learning research tells us what this kind of design predicts. A pilot can measure a specific session. We do not borrow another organization’s percentage, and we do not invent one. If a number is not from a paper or from that playtest, it does not go on a slide.
Does game-based learning work?
Large reviews find a modest but real advantage. Wouters et al. (2013) report d = 0.29 for learning and 0.36 for retention against conventional teaching, and Clark et al. (2016) report g = 0.33 against non-game instruction. Design matters about as much as the medium, and motivation gains were not significant.
Where can I read the longer notes?
The blog has research by the team, short studio notes on the name-after sequence, metaphors that keep the cause, the short shelf, delays, and tempting shortcuts, plus plain-language finance explainers.
Starting a project
How do we start?
Book a free consultation. Tell us who is learning, what must change, and whether you already know the format. Bring a paper, a procedure, a lesson, or a decision people keep getting wrong. We will say what can be played and what should stay as text.
What should we bring to the call?
The audience, the change you want, and the material you already have. A finding, a policy, a training module, or a system with a delay in it is enough. You do not need a finished game idea.
What happens when I send the consultation form?
Your brief, with the audience, the change, the offer, and your note, goes to the team inbox at team@wissenflow.com. We reply by email to arrange the call. You can also write to that address directly.
How long does a project take, and what does it cost?
Both depend on the subject. A single scene from an existing paper is a different piece of work from a workplace mission with a manager debrief. We scope that on the consultation rather than publish a rate card that would not fit the brief.
